Kentler International Drawing Space is a non profit arts organization located in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
The K.I.D.S. Art Education program brings innovative art-making experiences to students, teachers, and families in and around Red Hook. With our diverse community in mind, Kentler is committed to using contemporary art as a platform for inquiry, exploration, and empowerment. All programs are based on Kentler's exhibitions of drawings and works on paper.
Our programming includes School, After-School, Residency, and Drawing Together family weekend workshops.

“Drawing Together” Free Weekend Art Making Workshops for Families

What is it?
Led by Kentler’s Art Education team of professional Teaching Artists “Drawing Together” is an opportunity for families to explore together “Degrees of Density”, our new show of contemporary drawings. On the 13th and 20th, using music, movement and the works on view in the gallery, participants will explore different kinds of mark-making and create wild and unpredictable drawings! On the 27th and the 11th participants will explore the sculptural qualities of line through string, chalk, and more! All programs are interactive and designed for ages 4 and up.

Programs take place at the gallery unless otherwise noted.

Who are the Teaching Artists?
Kate Baird lives in Brooklyn and works as a teaching artist for the Guggenheim Museum and the Kentler International Drawing Space. She received an MFA from the University of Chicago in 2005. Her paintings, drawings and prints explore ideas about place and the natural world and can be seen at katebairdart.com.
Meghan Keane is a Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist inspired by hair, gender, microscopes, and the unexpected beauty of things. She is currently a Visiting Artist at the Brooklyn College Art Department Printshop. Her work can be seen at meghankeanestudio.com.
