At our final program, students were given the opportunity to either complete or elaborate on one of their favorite artworks from the 10 week period. Each student received his or her own portfolio to manage their artwork, and they took great care to lay out each piece for consideration. Once the work was completed to their satisfaction, some students decorated gift boxes and folded origami while others worked.
A reception was held with snacks provided by Good Shepherds, and we were thrilled to welcome GSS staff, parents, and friends to join in the celebration. Students shared what they had created and revealed their proudest moments. At the close of the event, they drew small presents from a "grab bag" and were encouraged to keep those items in the gift boxes they created.
Big thanks to the great folks Good Shepherds-- Tre, Sabrina, Jasmine, Keesha, and everyone else who made this program run so efficiently! We had a great time with this group of students and can't wait to pick up again next Spring.
Stay tuned next week for a report on our final day with the RHI After-School group!
